Transport Sector Recognition and Celebration
The AMT Awards will open with a recognition and celebration moment featuring 5-minute clips from the maritime, road, aviation, and railway sectors.
This will be a highlight moment where each sub-sector will get to highlight their success stories for the last 10 years in video form and enhanced by dance and or other creative ways.
The videos clip the various custodians of the sector will:
- introduce the sector by elaborating on what they do and how they interact with the sector
- The entity will give a brief history highlighting the growth that the sector has enjoyed over the years.
- They will also highlight the actions they have made so far to improve the sector. These may be in form of policies, innovation, strategy, hiring, growth, resource allocations, statistics, testimonials, initiatives, projects, and expansion among others.
- The entity will also mention the various product or services that they would like the public and stakeholders to know about.
- The entity will finally highlight challenges and suggested improvements and future plans that will ensure safety, efficiency, affordability, and accessibility that will improve service delivery to all stakeholders.
1. Best Technological Innovation in Transport
The Best in this category is one that has the best use of applied technology to solve a problem or improve service by an entity. By using new technologies, the innovation must have assisted in the transport planning or running of transport operations.
Voters are looking for a project that has used the latest technology (whether in vehicles, components, infrastructure, or IT) to enhance their service and resulted in improvements:

This award is for a frontline member of staff who will have demonstrated exemplary commitment in their service to the road users, their leadership, and the public at large. This is an individual officer who has gone beyond the call of duty in their role and delivered service beyond the expectations of both his superiors and the road users. We’ll be awarding both male and female entrants.
The officer must display the below glaring qualities:
- Ability to take instructions correctly and strictly
- Fair in dealing with road users by ensuring that the rogue road users are brought to book without fear or favor
- Demonstrate proactiveness
- Maintain high standards of discipline
- Quick to action – Take quick action to ensure the safety of the road users
- Minimum supervision
- Must be great in accessing and controlling traffic enabling fast movement on the roads
- Demonstrated efficiency in the processing of cases and grievances all the way to completion either to the courts or relevant departments within NPS
- The officer must be able to handle the pressure that comes with managing traffic on the roads

16. Transportation Infrastructure Of The Year 21
With the country’s vision 2030 and the current achievements of the Big 4 Agenda, the awards seek to acknowledge and celebrate notable infrastructural work that has introduced or catalyzed improvement of the transport structure in the country. The infrastructural entries must demonstrate that the project was remarkable in one or more of the following areas:
- Significant improvement in the safety of users
- Increased accessibility to various areas aiding the growth of industries and economies
- Solve a perennial problem with precision
- Marked improvement in the efficiency of the delivery of service
- Notable scale or ambition
- An evident technical innovation that ensures delivery success
- in being completed within cost and budget. Appropriate figures and statistics must be included.
- in making a demonstrable improvement to the operation of the infrastructure network of which they form part, either locally, regionally, or nationally and

The improvement could be in innovation, communication, a different way of service delivery, or strategy that has caused a significant impact. It could also be a notable service to the community that has improved service delivery to all users.
